YOUNG VOLUNTEERS COMMITTEE HOSTS SPRING SLAM & SUPER SATURDAYS

In front of a crowd of 300 EHS friends, students performed their original poetry in the School’s annual Spring Slam at Show Night Club. The level of energy and excitement in the club was high as the students shared their work. The Spring Slam fundraiser and book drive raised over $8,000 and added over 200 books to the EHS Library. Music spun by Mark Ronson, Grammy award-winning recording artist, highlighted the student performances and brought even more energy to the event. Spoken word artist Rhymefest and Fabian Saucedo, EHS teacher and Spring Slam MC, free-styled at the end of the evening. Many thanks to our guest judges, and to Grey Goose Vodka, Pump Natural Food, Punch, Show Night Club, and Gaslight Entertainment.

The Young Volunteers Committee also held the following five Super Saturday Events this year:

Teen Poetry Slam, February 29th
Mock Interviews, March 27th
Volunteer at Jewish Home & Hospital, April 3rd
Fun Run, May 8th
Field Day, June 12th
