Mission Statement

The Young Volunteers Committee of The East Harlem School is made up of professionals who have chosen to dedicate a significant portion of their charitable time to forwarding the mission of EHS – “Helping students to develop academic excellence, moral integrity, courtesy, and an unshakeable commitment to their future and the fate of their community”. To pursue this lofty goal, the YVC will act to raise awareness of the school, raise money for the school, and provide EHS students with a non-academic outlet to explore themselves and their surroundings.

Super Saturdays:

Super Saturdays are volunteer opportunities planned and run by our Young Volunteers Committee.  Approximately every 2 months, volunteers get together on a Saturday morning and create a hands on activity for the students of The East Harlem School.  To participate in a Super Saturday event or find out more about the YVC, please contact Emily Miller, Director of Development.

Annual Poetry Slam:

The Poetry Slam is the signature fundraising event of the Young Volunteers Committee. For more information about this year's Slam, click here.
