Admissions Process

The Admissions Process for The East Harlem School is as follows:

  1. Attend an Open House
  2. Fill out an Application
  3. Submit Supporting Documents
    1. Teacher Recommendation Form
    2. Report cards from the past two years
    3. A copy of your child's IEP (if relevant)
    4. A copy of your child's Social Security Card
    5. A copy of your child's most recent physical form
    6. Proof of Income (your most recent tax return, if possible)
  4. Schedule a day-visit for your child
  5. Wait for a phone call from EHS to schedule an interview for you and your child with Ivan Hageman, Head of School (Note: some students are not invited for interviews and will receive this news by mail)
  6. An admissions decision is communicated by mail

Please note, the length of this process varies greatly, often because families do not submit all of their supporting documents in a timely manner. No decision can be made about a child until all documents are submitted.
