Empowering Students at a SustainING School
The East Harlem School at Exodus House is one of the only independent middle schools in New York City dedicated to serving low-income families. One hundred percent of EHS families receive scholarship support, and tuition accounts for less than five percent of the School's total revenue. Whether you choose to volunteer, give to the Annual Fund, attend an event, or all of the above, you are helping our students to develop academic excellence, moral integrity, courtesy, and an unshakable commitment to their future and the fate of their community. We thank you for making our work possible.
Financial Snapshot
Private donations account for ~90% of annual EHS revenue. All EHS families pay tuition but it is determined according to ability and on a case-by-case basis. The average tuition is $555/year.
The East Harlem School prioritizes the efficient use of its funds and keeps its administrative costs low. The cost per student at EHS (~$20,000) is lower than NYC public schools (~$25,000) despite funding an extended school day and an 11 month school year.
