This Privacy Policy sets forth the policies of The East Harlem School with respect to nonpublic personal information you provide to us through this web site (the "Site"). These policies may be changed at any time, in which case the revised Privacy Policy will apply to information collected after the date the Privacy Policy is changed and posted. By using our Site, you consent to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

1. Our Policy

We recognize the value of your privacy and appreciate concerns you may have about information you provide to us when you visit us online and how we treat that information. We encourage you to read this entire Privacy Policy as it sets forth our policies with respect to personal information you provide us through our Site. Other privacy practices may apply to information you provide to us through other channels. Personal information refers to information that allows us to identify you, such as your name, address, zip/postal codes, telephone number, organization name if applicable, e-mail address, etc.

We maintain this Site for informational purposes and in order to facilitate your interaction with us. At our Site, we only collect personally identifiable data when voluntarily and knowingly submitted by a visitor. You can have general access to our Site and browse pages describing our school without providing any personal information or being required to register at our Site. However, you may not be able to access all parts of our Site or interact with us online without supplying personal information. For example, you may need to provide us with your personal information in order to complete online forms or applications. The East Harlem School may also collect personal identification information from you when you subscribe to our newsletter, send contact inquiries, or fill out our donate form. We use third party service providers to help us operate our business and administer activities on our behalf, such as processing credit card donations.

We will only release information about you if you direct us to do so, if compelled to do so by law or in connection with any government or self-regulatory organization request or investigation. We may also disclose information you provide to us to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf, if any. If such a disclosure is made, we will require such third-parties to treat your private information with confidentiality. We may use the email address you provide when you donate to The East Harlem School to send you information and updates pertaining to your donation. Additionally, we will utilize your email when responding to your inquiries, questions, or other requests. If you provide your email address to The East Harlem School, you may receive emails that include organization news and updates. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, each email includes unsubscribe instructions. The East Harlem School publishes a list of donors in its Annual Report. If you wish for your donation to be anonymous, you may make this request on the online donation form or by contacting development@eastharlemschool.org.

We will not sell, share or trade our donors' names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.

This policy applies to all information received by The East Harlem School, both online and offline, on any Platform ("Platform", includes the East Harlem School website and mobile applications, if any), as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.

 

To the extent any donations are processed through a third-party service provider, our donors’ information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation.

8. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 ("COPPA"). COPPA requires that web site operators never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting verifiable parental consent.In accordance with COPPA, we do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. We recommend that no one under the age of 18 submit personally identifiable information to our Site. In the event that we determine that a user of this Site is under the age of 13, we will not maintain or use his or her personally identifiable information.
